Take a photo of handwritten maths and get compilable LaTeX.
You do not need a scanner. How to convert a photo of maths to LaTeX
- Take a clear photo. Lay the page flat, fill the frame, and shoot straight on in good light. On the desktop app you can also snap it with your phone and it appears on your computer automatically.

- Get typeset LaTeX. The page is transcribed into compilable LaTeX with any hand-drawn plots redrawn as editable TikZ, not a screenshot of your photo.
- Edit, compile, or export. Refine the source in the built-in editor, recompile to a PDF in the browser, or open it straight in Overleaf.
Tips for a photo that transcribes well
- Shoot straight down, not at an angle, so lines and fractions stay square.
- Even, bright light with no shadow across the page, and dark ink on plain paper.
- Fill the frame with the maths, and keep the camera steady so the equations are sharp.
- One topic per photo keeps the resulting LaTeX clean. Always check a page before you rely on it.
