Terms of Service
Last updated: 28 June 2026
These terms govern your use of LatexNotes (“the Service”), a tool that turns handwritten maths into LaTeX. By using the Service you agree to them. The Service is in early access and is offered free of charge while we develop it.
1. The Service is provided “as is”
LatexNotes transcribes handwriting automatically and can make mistakes. The output is a starting point, not a guaranteed-correct document. You are responsible for checking any transcription before you rely on it or submit it as your own work. We make no warranty that the Service will be accurate, uninterrupted, or available at any particular time.
2. Your content
You keep all rights to the notes you upload and the LaTeX you get back. You grant us a limited licence to process your uploads solely to provide the Service - this includes sending pages to our transcription provider (Google’s Gemini API) to generate the LaTeX. We do not sell your content or use it for advertising.
3. Acceptable use
Do not upload content you do not have the right to use, or anything unlawful. Do not try to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or abuse the Service or its rate limits. We may suspend access that does so.
4. Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity under your account. Free accounts have monthly usage limits, which may change.
5. Changes and availability
Because this is early access, we may change, limit, or discontinue features at any time. We may update these terms; continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
6. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, LatexNotes is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for academic, financial, or other outcomes arising from transcription errors or unavailability. The Service is provided without warranties of any kind.
